Barbara Johansen Newman
Barbara Johansen Newman has been illustrating since 1982. Her work has appeared in children's books, magazines, newspapers, advertising, calendars, and numerous other venues. She has exhibited at the Society of Illustrators Annual in NYC, and her work has been in several Print Magazine Annuals.
She is currently completing the fourth book in a new series by David A. Adler, for Viking Children's Books. In addition, she has a brand new picture book out for Marshall Cavendish Publishers, entitled, "Shoo! Scat!", written by Lois G. Grambling.
Prior to working full time as an illustrator Johansen Newman was an award winning fiber artist and puppeteer.
She lives with her husband and three sons in Massachusetts in the US.
