Stephen Aitken
Stephen Aitken loves books with pictures in them. He also loves to write picture books. He loves to paint pictures for books. He has published about a dozen of them, in China, East and South Africa, India, Lebanon, Turkey, the U.S. and the U.K. Stephen loves good books, stories that make him laugh, stories that make him cry, books that make him feel inspired to be better. Stephen has a degree in Biology with a major in Fine Art. He worked for many years as a scientific illustrator and 10 years ago published his first picture book.
He now lives in Ottawa and also maintains a studio in the Himalayas of India. His favourite media is watercolour but he works in all media. He also works digitally in Photoshop and Painter 10 and can transfer files directly to a publisher's FTP site or to a secure page on his web-site. Stephen is happy to be working in this exciting digital age. He is represented in the US by Storybook Arts Inc. (www.storybookartsinc.com)
