Richard Deverell
Aged 16 Richard left school and went to work in the legendary Charlie Daniels Studio in London, where he rose from the position of brush washer to Studio Manager in seven years, a former incumbent of this position being another Charlie, by the surname of Watts who left the studio to further his career in a local blues band by the name of the Rolling Stones.
Richard learned graphic design, producing packaging designs for blue chip companies including Marks and Spencer. It was here that he became highly skilled in hand drawn lettering.
He now works as a freelance illustrator from a studio at his home with views across the beautiful, georgian city of Bath.
Richard's heroes are Hergé, Arthur Rackham, and Edmund Dulac He is also an accomplished guitar player as well as a practicing Christian.
