Jennifer Erickson
Jennifer's talent for drawing and painting emerged when she was a child. Her first published piece was a ball point pen drawing, in the local newspaper at age five. She cleverly scribbled over a mistake and titled the piece Meatball Rolling across a Bridge. She saw a delicious future.
Jennifer started college at seventeen with a grant from Western Illinois University. She continued on to the Art Institute of Chicago, and later studied watercolor under the renowned Irving Shapiro at The American Academy of Art in Chicago. She graduated from the Academy with a degree in Illustration, after receiving the Union League Scholarship.
Her broad personal collection of children's books includes Dr. Seuss, David Wiesner, and Chris Van Allsburg. Jennifer grew up on a healthy dose of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. Now her sons have shown her the joy in Sponge Bob and Wallace & Gromit.
She lives in Anacortes, Washington with her two sons and their ever-loyal dog, Shadow. Her children inspire and amuse her daily.
