Elsa Warnick
Elsa Warnick was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, going to Portland,
Oregon to attend Reed College, where she earned a BA, majoring in fine art.
and a certificate from the Museum Art School (renamed Pacific Northwest
College of Art or PNCA). Until late 1984, Elsa exhibited drawings and
watercolor paintings locally and nationally.
At this time, Elsa left the fine arts arena, and began her business as a
freelance illustrator. Throughout her careers, she has taught, in recent years
at PNCA, and currently at Portland Community College. She continues as a
faculty member each summer for Portland State University's Children's Book
