annie zygarowicz
Annie Zygarowicz has been drawing and sculpting her weird little characters since the age of 10. Her background has always been in the art field (illustrating, graphic design, figurative art, computer design and art education).
After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in NY with a BFA, Annie worked in the visual merchandising and design department of a major NYC department store, designing store displays, building props and creating signage. From there she worked on set designs and created graphics for theatrical productions and trade shows.
Encouraged by peers to show her portfolio, she began freelancing as an illustrator/designer for various publications, packaging and advertising firms for several years. Annie's humorous oil paintings have been published in magazines and her pastel work was sold in local galleries and fine craft shows as prints. Currently, her figurative art is being shown in local galleries. "My 3D figurative art is just an extension of my cartoony illustration style...I suppose I'm attempting to breathe some life into my characters." Her recent project is finishing up a series of educational workbooks and ed materials that incorporate some of these funny character sculptures.
Annie continues to produce humorous, caricature and satirical illustrations with oils, pastels, and acrylics, as well as design computer graphics on her Mac computer. Check out her site at www.zygdesignz.com.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
