Alayna Paquette
I have been drawing all my life, and a few years ago I finally decided to turn my life-long hobby into a career. I attended Rhode Island School of Design and received a certificate in natural science illustration, and, upon graduating, immediately decided that I prefer illustrating for children. The lessons I learned there, however, have been invaluable to me as an artist. I enjoy drawing animals in unexpected scenes, such as a walrus having his tusks cleaned by a toothbrush-wielding little girl. My media of choice are pencil, colored pencil and pen and ink, but I also sometimes work in watercolors and acrylics. I'm new to the field, but my recent published works include "Hope", by Adam Eisenson for Lone Star Publications, and the cover illustration of the Jan/Feb '06 issue of New Moon Magazine. I have also worked for Quarasan and Purun New York, Inc.
