Anna Boll
Anna J. Boll is a children’s author/illustrator with poetry credits in national children’s magazines including Babybug Magazine, Ladybug Magazine, Highlights High Five and Highlights for Children. Her illustrations have appeared in advertisements in the on-line version of the New York Times, brochures for The West Bath Historical Society and The Pownal Land Trust, BJ Hickman Magic Shows, Magic, Fun & Games Newspaper, and on a tote bag project for Books Etc.
Anna’s illustration style has a graphic feel. Anna uses traditional media such as gouache, acrylics, printing and/or paper cutting in conjunction with photoshop to create images with bold flat color. Anna is a founding member and co-president of the Maine Illustrators’ Collective. She is the coordinator of the “Fall Folio Feast,” bringing illustrators and art buyers together for an annual portfolio showcase in Portland, Maine.
Anna is an active Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators member and the conference coordinator for the New England Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators 2008-2009. She attended the Chautauqua Writer’s Workshop in 2004.
Anna has a degree in Political Science and American Sign Language from the University of Rochester and a Masters of Science in Education from the University of Southern Maine. She taught elementary and middle school for ten years focusing on literature, writing, and social studies. Anna provides writing and illustration programs to area schools and libraries.
