Charles Lockhart
Since embarking as a freelance artist in 2002 I have created illustrations and
graphic design for companies large and small (see list below). In todays
market an artist must be able to excel in many areas. I enjoy the
diversification that is possible freelancing. Whether running washes on an
illustration of delicate leaves for Fine Gardening Magazine or designing and
illustrating an instruction manual for DuPont, I rely on the same instincts I
use to paint fine art landscapes.
During the fifteen years I was Art Director for Fine Homebuilding Magazine I
created many of the samples shown here. I combine traditional mediums such
as water color, color pencils, and pastel with digital programs to create the
final image or create the entire image digitally.
