Ginger Nielson
My roots in art are based in traditional painting in oils, acrylics, watercolor
and in pen and ink. However, my current work, although a realistic painterly
style is created with digital painting programs.
A most important goal for me, is to add excitement, emotion and little
story within each illustration I create. The colors that I use range from the
most subtle to the most vivid depending upon the mood I am trying to
convey.
My illustration credits include 7 illustrated picture books and several early
readers for educational companies as well as illustrations for periodicals and
much larger works for stage sets.
I have been fortunate to have worked with and known some amazing artists,
authors and mentors. These incredible individuals have inspired me to work
hard, constantly be open to new ideas and never give up. I treasure the words
of my dad, "Take a Chance!"
