Emma McCann
Illustrator and author Emma McCann was born and grew up in Surrey surrounded by a literal menagerie of animals, including three rather vicious sisters. She studied illustration at Kingston University, where she happened to find herself in the highly unusual situation of being nabbed by a publisher at her degree show in 2003. Her first picture book "Fish Don’t Play Ball" was published by Meadowside Children’s Books in June 2004. Her second, "Munch", followed in February 2005 and was long-listed for the Kate Greenaway Medal.

Emma likes watercolour inks, collecting picture books, and new paintbrushes. Luckily, she gets to use all three of her favourite things in her work. Emma lives and works by the sea in the UK.
